After the 20 trucks, what next?

Federal Government of Nigeria, to cushion the effects of food inflation had mooted the idea of removal of tariffs for a period.

One way of solving a problem is to look at

the root cause.

These items are imported and produced locally.

To cut their prices, free distribution could be abused.

The market place is a good place for distribution. Not free but to buyers.

For now the problem is the price. To make it affordable a subsidy would be a good idea.

Was it not removal of subsidy that upset the applecart and threw the whole economy into a frenzy?

Subsidize and let the market do the rest. Use the sellers and their unions. Address the problems of supply and watch the goods get to the market.
