Dele Momodu on Tinubu's cabinet
Between Dele Momodu and President Tinubu, there is no love lost. Politically, I doubt if they belong to the same Party.
Dele is best known for publishing, Ovation
Magazine, which at a time was very popular.Since then, he has moved into Politics, running for the Office of President.
One thing you cannot take away from him is his exposure.
He sees President Tinubu's cabinet as being inferior to those of IBB and Obj.
With respect to IBB, I am not surprised that Dele is praising, IBB's Cabinet.
IBB was someone who believed in showing that he can do better than the best of the best with a view to showing that few Nigerians have integrity.
Every person who served under him invariably got smeared one way or the other.
I am not surprised my teacher, Professor Nwosu is today living a reclusive life in spite of the good job he made of June 12, 1993 Elections.
As for Obj, in spite of the fact that Obj is a prolific writer who even believes he does not have to take every advice by his advisers, he still went after the best of Nigerians all over the world. His was a dream team.
As Dele Momodu observed, it is like President Tinubu wants to recycle the Lagos team.
Something tells me in spite of what his backers would have us believe, like IBB, somehow he believes too much in his own abilities and does not need unknown hands no matter how competent.
This smacks of a preference for loyalty over competence.
The drawback is that his attention would be sought in all difficult cases and this is a recipe for non performance and the state of the economy is a vivid testimony.
It takes a man to do a man's job. Tinubu should do what Obj did. Get specialized talent for challenging positions. For one Dele Alake may not have what it takes to be in the Mineral sector.
He may be loyal but the job demands more than loyalty.
Dele Momodu sees the team as a desire to compensate friends. They may have performed well in Lagos but it is imperative to get others to serve Nigeria where they are needed.
What was the performance in Lagos?
ReplyDeleteNigeria needs rejuvenated minds to take her to the next level and the present leadership is not getting it right.
