Taking the tiger by the tail
Amidst the spiralling inflation in the country and the cacophony of steps and missteps from government, a new and potentially dangerous one has crept in.
Soldiers, to turn their vast lands to
farmlands. It is interesting to note that Civilian governments often prefer arming the police over the needs and sensibilities of the Military.
On the other hand, military regimes won't care two pence for the welfare and arms of the police.
Civilians use the police against the army and the army underarm the police in order to ride roughshod over the hapless populace.
I bet the army will feel uneasy over this order. So too their top brass but I doubt if Maradona's friend has not blinded the top brass with settlement, IBB way.
A better proposition borne of sincerity would have been dislodge Boko Haram from Sambisa forest first before any other thing.
When I hear of contractors who supply Boko Haram food and women, I remember a radio jingle of yore , "armed robber no be spirit".
It takes a man to do a man's job. If the government is sincere, fighting and dislodging Boko Haram is more of a soldiers job than farming.
What do, I know?
