Finidi, begging is not bad
Victor Osimhen is in the eye of the storm because, Coach Finidi George claimed he cannot beg him to play for his country.
- According to George Bernard Shaw, 'those who can do, and those who can't teach'.
Finidi did not beg Osimhen and Finidi did not win.
If Finidi could not beg Osimhen, he needed not complain after losing
It is not begging, it is planning and prioritizing.
A Coach is a teacher. Teachers are judged by the results of their pupils.
It takes skills to manage talent.
In the hey days of Muhammed Ali, his coach Angelo Dundee had a way with him.
Whenever, he needed Ali to do something like using his left jab, all he did was to say how he loved the left jab.
It is a win win situation. The Coach doesn't shout but he gets his message across.
Given another chance, Finidi would realize he is no more a player but a coach that needs all available players.
His job is to make the players play . He cannot play. He has to get the players to play by all means necessary.
If there are bigmen behind the players, get behind the bigmen.
Everybody loves a winner and it is Finidi's job to win, so too NFF.
If the coach is rich enough, he uses gifts if not he can try flattery and motivational talk.
No matter how you look at it, Finidi and Odimhen have both lost out in this matter.
It is morning yet in Finidi's coaching career. For Osimhen, time is running out.
