Drug Dealers and Capital punishment

Legend has it that many were those dealing in hard drugs unknown, until the Buhari junta rattled Nigerians with the retroactive killing of two drug offenders.

It is funny that the death penalty for

armed robbery did not stem the tide of the crime.

In fact at execution grounds, pick pockets operate freely.

The Nigerian Senate have voted for death penalty for drug dealers and I wonder where, that is coming from?

They all saw the legal tangle between Tinubu on the one hand and Atiku/Obi on the other hand in respect of Tinubu's drug offence in the US.

I wonder if that case has any bearing on the present Bill?

There are I believe far more pressing matters than drug offences for our lawmakers to be going extreme.

I believe Nigerians will be more grateful if they can introduce draconian bills against insecurity, corruption and election rigging than facing drugs.

I do not support drug dealing but the law makers owe their constituents attention on what ails them.

The issue of fake rice pyramids, epileptic power supply and food insecurity deserve more attention from the Law makers who are everyday, in case they do not know, becoming more irrelevant and may eventually be outlawed themselves.
