More than Barring Asari

It has been reported that the likes of Asari Dokubo are no longer welcome at Aso rock.

Obama had to cut ties with his Pastor

when the Pastor's views became an embarrassment. This, he did while campaigning, lest it damaged his electoral fortunes.

Our man is welcoming Asari Dokubo and letting him get away with his excesses.

It is not enough to tell him to stay away. It is better to treat him as an outlaw. No man should be allowed to parade a private army in a republic.

This is what Asari is being allowed to get away with. Today, the authorities are turning a blind eye.

Tomorrow, with another regime, he would be getting the Emefiele treatment.

There is no other name for wrong behaviour irrespective of our affiliation with power.

To make our country like the places we Japa, to, all hands must be on deck to point out wrong from right so as to put an acceptably working system in place. To do otherwise is to build a haven of continuous complaints.

  1. It was the same Obama that reminded us that African leaders were busy building strong men and not strong institutions. The Presidency, Judiciary, Legislature, CBN, Army, Police and all agencies should be the same whether President Obasanjo, Yar Adua, Goodluck, Buhari or Tinubu is in the Presidency. But most leaders complain when they are not in power but tolerate worse situations that they feel will help them to consolidate their positions forgetting that the monsters they help to build today either by act of omission or commission may come back to haunt them tomorrow.
