PMB: Apologizing and grandstanding
PMB as he prepares to leave office has made the customary apology to Nigerians for the pains his policies
might have caused us.Well, at least the PMB that chose outdated Barter as economic policy in his first coming has chosen to toe modern trends by issuing an apology.
However, ranking pari passu with the apology is his grandstanding in respect of handing over on May 29.
A favourite saying of mine is the biblical injunction that narrow is the way that leads to life. This biblical line is also appropriate in respect of achieving fame.
Who would have believed that the PMB that wept for being denied the opportunity to lead Nigeria, will in eight years fail to retain even his most loyal support base!
Like all bad attempts, he has failed in spectacular fashion. His place in the list of failures would be supported by so many leaders who promised so much but achieved so little.
The good thing is that in that company he would find a lot of fellow travellers who misused power in their time.
Perhaps history will be kind to him when it becomes clear that those who made it possible for him to get to office as civilian President already knew his capacity and so not much was really expected of him.
The question then is, why promote him if they knew he would fail?
The answer is: EMILOKAN!
