Can Ike Ekweremadu ever contribute to the debate on Marginalization?

Each time Igbos complain of Marginalization, I remind myself of political leaders from the South East.

For many years,  Ike Ekweremadu

held on to the post of Deputy Senate President, even when he was not in the ruling party with a majority in the Senate.

Honestly, I used to see him as a taciturn gentleman but circumstances have conspired to cast him in an unsavoury light.

Firstly, he is behind bars in the UK. Not only is Ekweremadu, an experienced Lawmaker, he is indeed a Legal practitioner.

They say that when it rains, it pours. For Ekweremadu, this is not the best of times for an enduring Political actor at the centre and from a region that shouts Marginalization, being linked with 40 properties is preposterous, to have an interim forfeiture order on them is quite bizarre and embarrassing.

It may appear that the authorities are rubbing it in but then methinks the case had been on before his travails in the UK.

Whenever he disentangles himself from the cases before him, he may likely end up like a Crab that escaped a trap, with a tell tale sign of losing at least one limb.

Honestly, he has been cast in a bad light and may never be able to contribute to the debates either on corruption or Marginalization.

Other politicians especially those from the South East should learn from Ekweremadu.
