Panels and white Papers

Democracy is a very tricky business. Close to it is civilization and

globalization.

There is something called ease of doing business. It has to do with rules bothering on business and ease and methods of conflict resolution.

Money goes where there is Money to be made not where there is money to be lost.

Foreign Direct Investment is more likely to shun places where there is disregard for rule of law in favour where there is respect for rule of law.

The Economic nerve center of Nigeria, Lagos is in the throes of a humanitarian scandal. That is the massacre of 20th October 2020.

I presume many people are jittery especially as Elections are faraway and yet very near.

The report of the panel of investigation into the massacre is an ammunition ready to be used against the powers that be.

How they will wriggle our is yet to be seen.

So far there are frenetic attempts to rubbish the report.

The report has been submitted. The next stage is the decision of the Government in respect of the report.

That is the white paper. The report has been leaked.

What will the white paper look like?

Unfortunately for the Government, they have a formidable for in a disciple of late SAN, Gani Fawehinmi.

This man, Ebun Olu Adegboruwa has been fighting Toll Collection at the Toll Gate. He was a member of the panel representing civil society.

Any attempt at any underhand action in respect of the awaited White Paper will be stoutly resisted by the activist of a Lawyer.

Governor Sanwo - Olu may be acting cool now but I bet he is under immense pressure to save the day but it is just too late in the day as the blood of those massacred must be crying for Justice.

Who or what can deny them Justice?

  1. So sad the honourable minister of information refused to talk.

These people have sold their conscience. Lagos State government is saying there was no massacre. To a large extents governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu deserve commendation by allowing the panel to do their job without his influence.

We hope one day justice shall prevail.

    1. Gov Sanwo-Olu invited the army but never knew something of that nature would happen, all the same l still blame the government and believe me nothing will happen to the soldiers, the least they will do is to court-martial them that is if the government is will that if they eventually does that reason will be that other countries are watching to see the reaction of the government. They can go as far as Killing condemned criminals in place of the soldiers that carried out the barbaric act.
      God help Nig.

  2. My boss, whatever happens, the Supreme Judge is watching. No sinner goes unpunished, the punishment may not be here.
