Blackmail as an instrument of APC Government's policy

The APC Government is anything but

alive. At best it is drowning.

History is very interesting. Once upon a time, IBB overthrew PMB and smiled his way into people's hearts.

Perhaps the devil struck and IBB became very devious. He started with settlement. Bringing up all manners of schemes across board, all to put unexpected money into People's pockets.

Then he started blackmailing very important people, paying money into their accounts and watching them react.

Blackmailing religious leaders. To his credit, he said that the only Nigerian he held in high esteem was Gani Fawahenmi because, Gani resisted IBB to the end.

Next IBB destroyed student Unionism sponsoring security agents in various higher Institutions of learning.

Not done yet, he embarked on a transition program with the sole aim of making him a military President after rubbishing any other worthy contender.

In the end he not only failed but subsequently laboured in vain to come back, perhaps to right his wrongs.

It was Jack Warner who said that there is never a second opportunity to make a first impression. It matters a lot.

Today, a trend is emerging that will be of interest to historians. First, Festus Keyamo counters singer Eedris Abdulkareem's criticism of the government with claims that Eedris begged for money from the government.

Next Garba Shehu meets Father Ejike Mbaka's call for the impeachment of PMB with a claim that Fr Mbaka came to Aso Rock with three contractors asking for contract.

Maybe, these aforementioned government functionaries do not know how odious blackmail is. It is a very low point for a government that claims a modicum of integrity, not that they deserve it.

Countering criticisms with blackmail is an admission of cluelessness. The same criticism that was levelled on GEJ. What a shame?
