National Health Insurance and Dichotomy in treatment

Pioneers in any field are usually heralded and for good reasons. In

advanced countries, Insurance companies own banks but in Nigeria, Insurance companies are poor relations of banks.

The reasons are not far to find. The culture of Insurance is yet to gain prominence in our clime.

It behoves players in the Insurance Industry to put their best foot forward. Today, Health Insurance is in its infancy in our country. 

The beauty of Insurance is the more the players the better for all. For this to happen participants must have good tidings to take away.

What is happening today, is that there is a Dichotomy in terms of treatment given to regular customers of a hospital and those on NHIS.

This is most disagreeable and calls to question the competence and commitment of the Industry regulators.

For reputable hospitals to be part of this charade is most reprehensible and makes one wonder if lucre is taking the better part of the Hippocratic Oath?
