How soon will Nigerian Universities start offering a course on negotiating with terrorists?

As an undergraduate, I was privileged to have foreigners as fellow students

              Leah Sharibu
and Lecturers. Today, Nigerian education has lost ground to neighbouring Ghana and Benin republic.

With the rate at which the Federal Government is negotiating with terrorists or is it bandits, it would not be a bad idea if teaching negotiation with terrorists is introduced in our Universities with accelerated accreditation from National Universities Commission.

I recall that after the botched attempt to rescue American hostages by then American President Jimmy Carter from Iran, his successor even before he was sworn in as President, Ronald Reagan sent a strong worded message to Iran that he would not negotiate with terrorists.

The Khomeini regime, smelt the coffee and quickly did business with the outgoing Jimmy Carter regime that had provocatively tried to rescue the American hostages.

What did it, was Ronald Reagan's tough message. In America military service is a badge of honour.

Sadly, Nigerian politics has been dominated by ex military politicians without any tangible thing to show for it.

It is unfortunate that the perfidy that is going on in Nigeria today is taking place under the nose of an ex military leader, even in his own region.

Before Nigeria becomes a laughing stock, Leah Sharibu should be released before Christian graduates of the new course on negotiating with terrorists are given the job. This is due to the fact that from all indications the present negotiating gurus may not be willing or able.
