Did Ogun State just take the kidnap baton from Edo State?

           A family of Kidnappers

It was the northern bandits, who said that, female abductees attract more

ransom than male abductees. This may explain why two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University were abducted.

Thankfully, they have been released. Will there be an encore?

From Edo State to Ogun State. One thing can put the crime in check, a deserved punishment.

For so long as the perpetrators are not brought to book and they make a kill, money wise, more people will try their luck.

That is the Crux of the matter. For so long as crime pays and detection and prosecution are defective, more people will want to follow in their footsteps.

Schools are closing down in the north. Kidnapping of students is gradually taking root in the South.

Like Covid - 19, this may lead to a drop in school attendance. Well, Education can be acquired outside the four walls of a school and if that option has to be explored to safeguard life, so be it.

However, it is a sad commentary on our development that kidnappers based internally are dictating our way of life instead of our security forces flushing them out and sending them running.

The concept of hot pursuit was made popular during the fight by freedom fighters against the apartheid regime in South Africa. Then South Africa felt they could unquestionably pursue freedom fighters wherever they went

Today, criminals not in the air or from the sea are terrorising a country with a track record of fighting wars abroad.

Something, definitely is not right. Our forces are not bereft of ideas but definitely, they can do with a dose of inspirational leadership.
