He who must come to equity must come with clean hands

                Victor Muruako

Chairman, Fiscal Responsibility Commission

I am irrevocably committed to equity in Nigeria. I cannot afford to be

reprobating and approbating at the same time.

PMB was by reputation as straight as an arrow. Today, by virtue of the unbridled acts of nepotism associated with his person and his Government, he is as disreputable as the others.

The subject of today's discourse is the approval given to Victor Muruako as sunstantive chair of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Though, his appointment has been approved, it may turn out a trap by the Presidency.

The man whose appointment has been approved after a stiff resistance is a barrister at Law, who should know.

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission is not just a run of the mill parastatal. It is a watchdog of monumental proportion. Any act of illegality attached to it is most unwelcome and could serve as an albatross later.

The issues in contention is the fact that for many years, the commission had been operating without a board. Victor Muruako had acted for seven years and now he has been approved for a term of five years.

The Legislators had insisted that the Presidency appoint other members of the board so that they are examined and approved pari passu.

Solomon Adeola the chairman of the committee in charge of approving the appointee laboured to ensure the President, a fellow party man was not embarrassed.

Well, while I sympathize with the Lagos State Senator, I hasten to say that there are ways of ensuring such situations do not arise.

Ita Giwa once did it for OBJ, this comes under the purview of the National Assembly Liaison Officer.

Well the deed has been done, Senator Adeola should not hesitate to extract a commitment to an early nomination of the board members. To do otherwise is to weaken his position and lay the Commission bare to odium and opprobrium.
