The Masquerade called Nigerian Presidency

Spirits are invisible and powerful and so is the current Nigerian President. Is it not surprising that some masquerades are ageless in a society where people do not live long?

This proves that since human beings change into the spirits and the name of the Masquerade

remains unchanged it then follows that the masquerades are only spirits in name alone.

The Nigerian President is by the merits of the Nigerian constitution very powerful and by extension the Presidency is powerful too.

The kernel of this writeup is the suspicion that just like a village rascal can put on the toga of a masquerade to commit mischief, the Presidency too is susceptible to such chicanery as every so often, we hear and read of the Presidency and not the President.

So the President is the person, seen and accountable but the Presidency is the masquerade, powerful and beyond reproach.

It is much in demand and salutary that the President acts more and keeps the masquerade for festive periods like Sallah and  Christmas.

I am not expecting our President to tweet like Trump but a periodic appearance should not be too much to ask for.

A quarterly brief may be inappropriate, so old age permitting, a monthly brief would be just fine. This way life is given to the masquerade.
