Like Mailafia, like Danjuma

What do Obadiah Mailafia and T Y Danjuma have in common?

They are both northern Christians who in recent times have had to cry out against injustice.

Both of them are well within their

rights to cry out or keep mum. That they chose to cry out when they did is the issue.

Somehow both have dined with the devil almost to their heart's content before crying out.

It is interesting that T Y Danjuma has not been shouting at the rooftop for some time now. Perhaps the matter or matters for which he cried about have been addressed.

Mailafia Obadiah is the one shaking tables now. Remember he was Presidential Candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the 2019 Nigerian Elections.

Previously he was Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. Like T Y Danjuma he had dined with the devil.

Crying out is a sign of discontent. The surprise will be if he continues to complain for too long.

Trust me, soon and very soon the issues he complained against would be addressed in such a way that he will cry no more like T Y Danjuma.

I am all for speaking truth to power. What I frown against is making a public issue of a private matter. Manpower is the least of Nigeria's problems. For anybody to serve Nigeria at the highest echelon, that person must have worshipped at the temple of Nigeria's power.

You do not worship, you do not climb. Having climbed you belong.

Please solve your issues privately. Do not involve the public. 

When T Y Danjuma sold an oil well and made a profit of $500 million dollars that he knew not what to do with, everything was alright. Please do not ask me what changed.

Just like Mailafia who had all along been at the corridors of power both locally and Internationally is just seeing things that have always been there.

The trouble with Nigeria according to Chinua Achebe is leadership but from my lens what I am seeing is Feudalism in the North.

The North sees itself as Prime. The South is secondary.

Being Prime, its interests before that of the South. In the North everyone before any Southerner.

This way T Y and Mailafia are ahead of every Southerner. It makes them happy.

Touch their interests then you hear about dirty linens in public. Massage their ego and all is well.

Meanwhile, the average Southerner has to wait for crumbs from the table of the masters.

If you know of injustice fight it always not sometimes for he who rides on the back of the Tiger sooner or later ends up in its stomach.
