Insecurity in Nigeria: gradually nearing boiling point.

          President Muhammad Buhari

I recall an incident at Idumota, Lagos, South West Nigeria, several years ago, where the wife of a top official of Lagos State government was harassed. Then and only then did the Lagos State government deem it fit to take action against street urchins called area boys.

The harassment went on and on unaddressed, until it touched home. A similar thing is playing out with regard to insecurity in Nigeria. So far, the

convoy of two Governors have been attacked.

The question is, who next? If the Governors are constitutionally the chief security officers of their states and are still being attacked, then who is safe?

Perhaps when a third Governor is attacked or a blue eyed boy among the Governors or better still a chief Law maker or the Vice President, then it will register and the appropriate action will be taken.

To me, something is just not right. The PMB that dealt with Maitatsine is either sleeping like the god Baal or on an errand or is relieving himself.

Whichever it is, I do not favour conspiracy theories, but to think that PMB a five star general is presiding over a worrisomely insecure Nigeria beggars belief.
