Saving Emilokan's blushes
From what I know of the President, the present state of the Nigerian economy is very far from his expectation.
Honestly, I have sympathy for us the affected but not for Emilokan.
Call it masochism if you like but when men
play God, there will always be consequences and sometimes collateral damage maybe for aquescience.Knowing the President as a populist and a typical Lagosian with the 'Ko mean' mentality, doing the unorthodox and expecting no consequences is normal.
Sir, not this time, Dangote, Elumelu and a thousand Capitalists cannot undo the damage.
Is it a curse?
I lack the power to lay a curse on anyone much more my country.
My late friend and colleague, Babajide Odunlami will sometimes say, he does not need to ask God to help him overcome a worthless opponent.
Nigeria's problem is very evident and not a mystery.
In a 'Ko mean ' style Emilokan brought economic upheaval from day one, in removing fuel subsidy.
Every other thing may not work until the subsidy is replaced.
The effects of the removal are what we are suffering today.
How come it was never done before. Even Emilokan had fought the removal most vociferously only to now do it.
His reputation built on painstaking rigmarole and many sordid acts most of them in cloak and dagger style is undergoing the kind of bashing that even his closest friends would shrink from.
He brought the ant infested wood, he should welcome lizards aplenty.
