Dilemma of the EFCC Boss

When Obj during his tenure as Nigerian President, set up the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to tackle the hydra headed

monster called corruption, it was only Orji Kalu as then Governor of Abia State who raised an objection.

Kalu who had more than a casual relationship with Obj smelt mischief.

Events have since proved him right.

Obj used and misused the commission. Today, nobody expects anything spectacular from the commission.

The current Chairman is a Reverend gentleman said to have more than a casual relationship with Emilokan.

He is Yoruba and the Yorubas have a saying that when one is sent on an errand befitting a slave, he bears the errand like a freeborn.

Unlike Orji Kalu who perhaps second guessed Obj, the current Chairman like every discerning Nigerian must have come to the realization that his, is a hatchet job.

Being a free born and not a slave he has taken to proselytization instead of action.

Hear him: If I can go after my kinsman, who is he that I will not go after him?

The latest: how does Nigeria survive with so much stealing, going on?

The sermons in our churches and mosques are sufficient unto our needs.

If the Chairman finds the job, distasteful, he should quit with his integrity if he has any, intact.

The job is a no no for men of conscience.

It was never intended to fight corruption but to intimidate and whip recalcitrant persons into line.

Fighting corruption needs no commission. What is the job of the police?
