Blood bath in Niger Delta

Ken Saro Wiwa lost his life in similar fashion. Firstly, he was an agitator and then he was accused of murder and sentenced to death.

To put it in a better perspective, he was hanged with eight others for the murder of five others.

Today, soldiers have been killed who were ostensibly on peace mission.

There was a communal conflict, and soldiers were sent on peace mission.

The soldiers were killed which is not only unfortunate but provocative.

There are allegations that the soldiers were not neutral but killing them was going too far.

Lessons are to be learned from this unfortunate incident in order to prevent a future occurrence.

However, truth be told only an impartial treatment of the matter will bring enduring peace.

For now, we cannot but sympathize with the deceased of the conflict and wish that all legal means of peaceful resolution of conflict be embraced by all concerned in this bloodbath in the Niger Delta.
