How sure are you, Sir?

With all the NIN, BVN and KYC that banks get involved in, Kidnapping goes

undetected by the authorities including the Police.

A traditional ruler claimed he paid ransom to kidnappers. Ordinarily, he ought not be proud of what he did but then, he said it to show, the Police had no hand in his release.

I have heard accusations of the involvement of the police in kidnapping, so the traditional ruler cannot and should not on good authority remove the Police from the equation.

I always believe that the group is bigger than the component parts. When the police were hyping Abba Kyari and his team, I was not comfortable until he was alleged to be a crime Lord.

The traditional ruler, should keep his ears to be ground and not be surprised to know the real role of the Police in his ordeal but to think the Police had no hand in it might prove faulty.

For all he knows their role might be such that, he would rather not want them to have any role at all than expect them to be his benefactors.

What I fail to understand in the Police is that they are never neutral in any matter, civil or criminal. To them, it is an opportunity to make an additional pay.

Report a crime. You pay. The offender pays. Both ways, they are in business and if you complain, they tell you, if you don't like the Police report to a thug.

Well, Mario Puzo's Godfather, will rather provide a service to a victim than let his person, report to the Police.
