Abdication of responsibility?

 Perhaps we are getting there. The Federal Government has said that powerful Nigerians are behind

Banditry, kidnapping and illegal mining.

This list is incomplete until election rigging gets included.

This is our type of Democracy.

When the government admits that some people are indeed powerful.

The question is whether the government is powerless against these powerful Nigerians?

A government that rigs itself into power cannot but plead this kind of thoughtless admission.

Going forward, one has to think of how to become powerful enough to commit some crimes and earn the respect and not the prosection and punishment that a criminal deserves.

The statement is nothing short of an own goal by a government that lacks any atom of legitimacy.

Those they say who sow the wind will reap the whirlwind. This is a reminder to the government that he who comes to equity must come with clean hands.

If the government is expecting sympathy, it should perish the thought.
