Nigeria's Military and domestic wars

The Israeli army is in a class of its own and why not? It is surrounded by enemies.

Nigeria is surrounded by friends and

so instead of focusing on external aggression, Nigerian politicians keep them busy with their local skirmishes.

I am a bit uncomfortable that 63 years post Independence, we are increasingly involving the military in our elections.

Owoeye Azazi before dying in a plane crash described Boko Haram as internal politics of the then ruling party.

Another top ranking retired soldier has described the various insurgencies in our country as being fueled by politicians.

My people have a saying that a thing born of a snake must either resemble a snake or a rope.

If in violence we conduct our elections then it should not surprise us that politicians are keeping our soldiers busy with their internally generated nefarious insurgencies.

Who then will obey the law?

Our politicians are brazenly breaking the law and the security agencies are watching helplessly.

I credit the security agencies for their knowledge of the source of their headache but wonder for how long they will watch helplessly especially as they lose personnel in these domestic wars?

Methinks, a time may come when the soldiers will try to take charge and reverse roles with politicians.

Are the politicians ready?
