Obituary

With sadness, regret, revulsion and hope, I announce the death by Tinubu of the following Institutions in Nigeria: Wole Soyinka, Olisa Agbakoba, Festus

Keyamo, INEC, Free Press, Judiciary, Legislature among others.

Left to mourn them are their disappointed followers including Yours truly and other children of Jacob who have not left the shores of Nigeria in search of food.

In 2020, Nigerian Youths rose to say, ' enough is enough'.

When Political campaigns resumed,  they threw their lot behind Peter Obi.

Peter Obi was derided as being an upstart. His Party was regarded with scorn.

In the end, Obi won in Lagos. Hope was kindled that an upset was imminent.

Tinubu had vowed that it was his turn. Did he not help Buhari overcome his woes of failure?

He threatened fire and brimstone. Northern Governors changed their mind and said power should go to the South.

In the South, Obasanjo had stood for South West. Good luck Jonathan for South South.

Everybody knew it was the turn of the South East. In preparation for a South Eastern President, Imo went to the ruling Party. David Umahi of Ebonyi defected to the ruling party and predicted that others would follow.

Tinubu had other plans. Firstly, a kite was flown that Obasanjo was not a Yoruba man.

Then, in utter contempt for the South East, Tinubu moved on.

Several aspirants who had purchased N100m nomination forms, withdrew for Tinubu.

Did they forfeit their money? Were they compensated?

The elections came. Naira became scarce, courtesy of a dubious change from old to new.

In the end, the elections were chaotic. Complaints came aplenty. INEC, ignored all complaints and said, 'go to court'.

To court, attention turned but what happened was shameful.

The Judges in hiding( from who), gave their verdict supporting INEC.

Law is not new in Nigeria but the judges were infantile and their line of thought the Supreme Court followed.

Now the Courts are dead. Tinubu did not start the death. Buhari did with the way he dealt with Chief Justice emeritus Onnoghen.

For the first time, election petition went abroad in search of evidence.

The US is the champion of Democracy but the Americans are no saints.

Our country belongs to us. The Igbos, my people have a saying, 'when an individual cooks for the clan, they devour it but when the clan cooks for an individual, he will not devour it.'

Tinubu has cooked for us. We shall devour it and return the favour.

  1. So sad indeed but we are all in it together. Did the Onoghen issue happen during the regime of Buhari? I don't think so.
