Can this happen today?

 In the year 2000, I was fresh in the Finance industry as a researcher. Among the Newspapers I was fortunate to be reading was the Financial Times of London.

To my surprise, while Enron was folding up due to their financial

scandal, in the US, the Lagos State Government was pushing ahead with their power deal with Enron.

It was so strange to me.

A lot of questions crossed my mind. Could it be out of ignorance or a deliberate attempt to hoodwink the people?

In this Month of Fela's birthday, I recall one of Fela's many cliches: Government Magic.

If I could be reading Financial Times of London, so many other people were reading it too.

Today, where is the power? Where is the Money?

I ask these questions because of the ongoing saga involving Tinubu.

I read somewhere that Atiku was manufacturing records for Chicago State University.

Make no mistake about it. There are many hidden and hideous things about Tinubu.

I recall a saying credited to Late Lamidi Adedibu of Ibadan, that once you are in politics, you should prepare to know the secret about who dated your mother before she met your father.

Those, they say, who must come to equity must come with clean hands.

When Bola Tinubu ran for office of Governor of Lagos State, Late legal Icon, Gani Fawehinmi accused him of perjury.

He was not convicted not because he was not culpable but because he was enjoying immunity as Governor when the bubble burst.

In spite of that, he stepped into the arena at National level against a familiar opponent and associate in Atiku.

The world is a global village, Atiku cannot be manufacturing lies against Tinubu.

Tinubu has a murky past in a murky city: Chicago.

It is the setting and city of the American Mafia.

To be fined $460,000 is no joke. To forfeit such an amount cannot come with clean hands.

Someone, once described stroke as a condition similar to a crab escaping a trap. It surely must lose a limb or two. So was Tinubu's escape from the American Law.

However, unlike us, they are patient and they are thorough.

I understand, the American FBI have a dossier on him which by the end of October, they are due to start releasing.

I pray Nigeria, survives the odium from the scandal.
