Where are the true Yorubas?

I have lived long enough in Yoruba land to know that the Yorubas have values, they do not toy with.

Today, with the ascendancy

of Tinubu in his hurricane manner, I wonder if want and deprivation is not making yorubas silent and confused.

Yorubas are stubbornly attached to their time tested values which they reflect in their literary works.

Today, few are heard.

Forget the traditional institutions, they have been thrown under the bus by the Nigerian constitution and you know what they say,' he who pays the piper dictates the tune'.

Traditional rulers not only depend on the government for their upkeep, the government determines who is and who is not.

How then can they promote values antithetical to the beliefs of the government of the day?

As for religious leaders, please don't go there.

Many see religion as business, so they too turn a blind eye to anything that will hurt their business.

I hope the yorubas will be able to recover from the damage by hurricane Tinubu.
