Judgement Day

I doubt if there has been any election like the February 2023 Elections in Nigeria.

It was an election that came after EndSars of 20/ 10/ 20.

20/10/20 was a day Nigerians were

massacred for crying out against oppression.

It was televised live but denied by government and foreign bodies. Even reporters and statesmen who witnessed the massacre kept mute.

The questions were, where are the bodies?

Incidentally, the nearby military hospital about that time chose to put their morgue under repairs.

No one could check the morgue for bodies.

A panel was set up by Lagos State Government.

Things remained in the air.

There was angst in the land.

In a country that believes in Democracy, elections serve to indicate the will of the people.

With anger and distrust for APC and PDP, Nigerians trooped out to vote.

Then things went South.

The first indication of dishonesty was failure to follow true with the promise of electronic voting.

The results started coming and in the midst of the jubilation came reports of rigging and results were announced and a winner declared.

Drama followed. The first was that there was voter apathy. Really? The next was that those not satisfied with the results should go to court.

Now comes judgement day. Will the courts be fair or foul?
