INEC should go to Court

I have no sympathy for INEC. A politician was once mocked as having worked hard to achieve mediocrity.

INEC organized a controversial election and asked complainants to go to court. What made that statement painful was that prior to the Elections, INEC had spent a lot of time on image laundering promising a remarkable change.

Indeed there were reasons to be optimistic. But everything went up in smoke.

The first surprise was that the remarkably high turn out was discountenance as a poor turn out. Really?

The next was non transmission of results electronically.

To the above changes, INEC's only response was, 'Go to court'.

Well, the seed of distrust that INEC planted has germinated as distrust in the minds of the people.

Today, from me, there are no tears for INEC as they lament non collection of PVCs.

INEC should not be surprised. I am happy Festus Okoye, their lead singer in the song of promise has departed.

I suggest, they get a lady with an innocent look and a sonorous voice to lead the orchestra.

In addition, they may work with the National Assembly to polish their laws in order to attract more people.

If these free tips, fail, then INEC should try their own medicine and GO TO COURT.
