Federal Government and unqualified teachers in private Schools

It is funny, the Federal Government is finding fault with private Schools.

I think, it smacks of hypocrisy.

Rather than find fault with private

schools, I think the Federal Government should do a soul searching on why people still prefer private schools to public schools.

I understand Lagos State makes N50b in IGR and yet a lot of Lagosians turn their backs on public schools.

When people say that Lagos is the only state that is working, they should understand why.

Most of the Southern Governors invest in Lagos State. Many politicians invest in Lagos State.

What then is the pull? Like Abuja is fast developing because it is the Federal Capital, Lagos was the Federal Capital and in terms of infrastructure, it is far ahead of others.

Recall that one of the reasons for moving the Federal Capital from Lagos was because of size.

Small as Lagos is, the presence of ports makes it very attractive for trade.

When State Governors who borrow money to contest elections think of the fastest way to recoup their investment, they readily think of Lagos.

When they steal money from their treasury to invest in Lagos, Lagos gets more developed and their states less developed.

This forces their residents to move to Lagos, congest Lagos and boost the value of real estates.

Consequently, people and commerce put money into the hands of Lagos.

Recall that Buhari jailed Late LKJ for funding UPN with Lagos State's money.

Tinubu did not build Lagos. Nigerians did and they are still doing.

What Tinubu did was to harness the riches of Lagos to build his political empire.

With the riches of Lagos, there is no reason, Lagosians will prefer private schools to public schools.

I would have loved my children to go to public schools because of their size but these days, the classes are over crowded.

Rather than build more schools, the Lagos State Government is standing idly by, while the private schools are taking advantage of the gap.

The same thing applies to the Federal Government as population grows, the appetite of the government for expansion of opportunities, diminishes and instead their propensity to embezzle funds, grows.

As the appetite to steal grows, society declines in progress and prosperity while citizens vote with their air tickets
