Anambra and the ban on the advertisement of Herbs
Public service is challenging for those who are desirous of serving. For charlatans it is a one way ticket to infamy.
Professor Chukwuma Soludo is in the saddle in Anambra State. As a Professor of Economics, much is expected of him.
The biggest challenge of the African today, is mental emancipation to release all our potentials.
Colonialism deliberately relegated almost everything African to the background.
After Independence, sadly, our leaders are behaving like substitute colonialists with Government Reserved Areas and other relics of colonialism.
Before the colonial powers came, we had a life. Those who took over from the departing colonial masters are still trying to preserve that legacy.
Truth be told, orthodox Medicine does not have the answer to all ailments.
Our governments should be promoting our medicine paripasu orthodox medicine.
The ban by Anambra State Government on open advertisement of herbs is retrogressive and elitist.
Professor Soludo should be promoting local initiative not stifle it.
Human Rights Lawyers should fight this act of discrimination. The Union of herbalists should fight this injustice.
Many are fake orthodox medicines that are advertised, perhaps being foreign, they are all good to go. Very laughable.
Soludo's case in so many things have proven that Western education is not answer to wisdom to handle bublic administration. What happens to calling this people to a round table of negotiation if he thinks that they're not getting it right.

DeleteMy Oga, our leaders seem to always take the easy way out of most situations without thinking through or tasking themselves on the best options. Like I said once, the easy way is not always the best way. It is like the joke that "to reduce poverty, you kill all the poor people". Leadership demands more from the leaders.
