President Tinubu's definition of Democracy

President Tinubu, likes very often, to describe himself as a democrat. As often as he so describes himself, I

wonder if he walks the talk?

Well, My President is an accountant so I will excuse him.

He says Democracy is not about choice but about social Justice.

Hmmmm.

My President hand picks people into office and calls himself a Democrat!

No Sir. Democracy is first and foremost about the people. The people may prefer poverty in freedom to opulence while in bondage.

Sir, pay Nigerian workers a minimum of N200,000 a month and give loans to students.

Your mandate is under question. It is not for you to determine, tolerable and intolerable court judgements.

It is beyond your powers Sir. For a despot, yes but a Democrat, No.

My problem with those praying for President Tinubu to do well is why they did not vote for him?

For one, he cared less about debates and interviews but instead chose to make deals.

For a Democrat, courting the people before elections is as important as mouthing democracy.

It is the campaign period that determines who cares and who does not care.

My President ran a poor campaign from Primaries to the National Elections.

It is not too late for him to appraise his campaigns and see where he got it right and where he got it wrong.
