The More things change, the more they remain the same

A colleague of mine at church, told me how her cousin who is a Priest, abused a young girl verbally for being dirty like her people.

You wouldn't expect that of a Priest. But do not blame him, he had been

brainwashed to believe that a certain ethinic group are all dirty but I can testify to the emptiness of that claim.

How are about racism? Dilibe Onyesma wrote about his experience in Eton College and how his physical exertions were always exaggerated and his mental exertions always downplayed.

In public we try to say correct things but those lies we grew up believing still rule our lives.

When you hit your left toe or your right toe and what you expect to follow? Many live with superstitious beliefs but they do not share them in public.

They are supposed to be grown and educated but they still live by these beliefs.

I have a few of my own like when my palm itches and when I dream of easing myself in a dream.

These things like I have pointed out earlier are not peculiar to the blacks or developing countries.

Sportsmen of caucasian origin like blacks have their own.

We grow by moving from.primary school through the rings of education but many of the things we were thought in primary school still ring true in the University.

How can I forget when I saw grasslands of the world in my General Studies handout in the University.

I had memorized it in the primary school. I did not do Geography in my School Certificate examination and the little Geography I did in Secondary School, I did not come across it. 

When I saw it in the University, I was excited.

Had someone not described higher education as doing more and more of

less and less? With the primary school as the foundation for everything.

Addition is addition at whatever level. It is not addition in primary school and subtraction in secondary school to revert in the University.

Names change but the substance remains the same.

A child who goes through primary school lacking in integrity but full of academic promises is unlikely not to become a crooked professor. Much learning but still substantially the same.

It will be interesting to read the biographies of Mandela and Hitler. At what point if at all did they change from what they were to what they ended up being known by?
