Festus Keyamo and the APC

When Gani Fawehinmi died, I had thought of Festus Keyamo as a worthy successor but it has turned out a forlon hope.

Keyamo became a SAN and things
changed.

You may wonder if all SANs are turn coats?

Well I am viewing this matter from the prism of Gani Fawehinmi. Recall that Gani became a SAM when it looked like the powers that be, were not ready to look in his direction.

I am not a lawyer and cannot pretend to be one.

If Gani was serially overlooked not so Keyamo and you wonder why?

Well today, Festus Keyamo, is more of a BAT in the sense of his title in the current APC administration, as Minister of State for Labour.

He is a BAT as he has nothing to offer in labour matters but in government propaganda, even when he is neither the Minister of information nor the spokesman of his party.

It is a known fact that every man has his price and surely, from APC, Keyamo who said that Delta State APC was formed in his parlour, has found his price and therefore beyond return.

Someone displayed the scorecard of APC, by the way, it is no news as it is painfully etched in the minds of all nigerians including the APC bigwigs.

It is inconceivable that the Festus Keyamo, who showed a lot of promise as a young human rights lawyer, who cut his teeth under irrepressible Gani Fawehinmi, would be associated with the APC.

As a younger man, I shudder at the kind of future that awaits Festus Keyamo outside APC and the corridors of power.

But you know, what, law is flexible and so are the practitioners. Not so?

  1. I don't know what to say about the man Festus Keyamo.
But I realized that some Politicians play the game with decorum and dignity. I so much respect GEJ. This man is not noisy and he takes life as it is.

Politics just help to bring his true self. A lot of adults fall in this category - Lai Mohammed, FFK.
