Kogi on my mind
When IBB created Kogi State, there was a riot. The riot was occasioned by the belief that the best was taken from others to create Kogi State.
Southern Sudan fought endlessly to be
free from the strangle hold of Northern Sudan. Both examples are a replay of Paradise lost.
This piece was inspired by the absurdity reported in Kogi State about the Government of Kogi State awarding a contract for cutting of a road.
As if the News is not worth denying for its absurdity, the Government shamelessly goes ahead to state that the project was designed to protect the people of Kogi from terrorists.
Isn't this like a father cringing from protecting his children from street urchins?
I passed through Kogi to and from Abuja and the roads were hideous especially at night.
To think the Governor of Kogi was touted as a young material for Nigerian Presidency?
Such a person wouldn't hesitate to shut down an International Airport for fear real or imagined without a fight.
I weep for Kogi. I weep for those who lost their lives over the Assets of Kogi State.
In this era of Elections, the Governor has just testified to his inability to safe guard the interests of Kogi State.
Who awards contracts for road construction and road destruction out of fear of terrorism in peace time?
Both the old and the young Politicians have failed us.
ReplyDeleteWhy this is so I do not know. But I think it's a mixture of believe/mindset and structure.
Sad, indeed.
DeleteI do not believe his theory. The man himself is full of anomalies. Even his road to second tenure was full of anomaies when helicopters were used to tear gas voters for them not to vote for his opponent.
ReplyDeleteHe claimed to be the youngest governor in Nigeria but behaving like uneducated. He was amongst the Governors Sai Baba gave bail out funds but refused to pay the workers. Worse still, paying some half salaries.
Of recent, some choice properties were seized all over the world that are traced to him. Meanwhile, he is amongst those positioning themselves to govern Nigeria tomorrow. May God never give power to such people.
Amen, Sir
