360 Degrees Economic Policy

Motivational speakers often speak of thinking outside the box.

While it is fanciful, I have my fears.

School dropouts sometimes achieve a

lot. No doubt and like Peter of Psquare said, men in jeans employ men in tie.

It goes to prove that life is symbiotic or complementary.

The doers need the keepers.

Like in football, the strikers are the risk takers while the keepers, manage the risk by ensuring that the goals  scored by the strikers are not neutralised by conceding goals.

PMB came with a policy of keep your money with you and create jobs. Easy money flew around with interest rates hovering around zero.

Today, interest rates are soaring. Honestly in an era of inflation, high interest rates are a panacea. Now that CBN want every Naira under it's control, high interest rates are a clincher.

My only worry is sustainability. How sustainable is the policy? I hope it is not a knee jerk?

Ours cannot be so special that we ignore basic variables.

Swinging from pillar to post is damaging to confidence and gives the wrong signal to long term investors.

I just hope we have enough men in tie to manage the picadilloes of men thinking outside the box.

People talk of what they do not teach in Havard, yet Havard graduates are well sought for. Of course, there has to be a reason or reasons for it.

  1. Thank you so much elder P.

My personal view is that PMB has given his best to Nigeria and Nigerians.

But the high level of "business as usual" worries few of us that want the best for this country. Nothing is achieved in anti corruption and the Oil theft makes the matter worst.

With the high level of hope exhibited by APC in 2014. We thought our refinaries would have been fixed by now and the Ajaokuta steel would have been producing for African Countries.
It is this administration that showed us that CBN is an extension of the Presidency. For the first time in the history of Nigeria. The CBN governor picked a normination form of a political party to contest as an aspirant. What an impunity!!

  2. Someone here said, PMB has given "us" the best and later wrote about impunity, the fact is that, PMB has retired in active politics, before he was invited and imposed on us, hence, he has no genuine agenda, to uplift or sustain the economy of this nation. He was the head of state for 2 years or more, after the overthrow of shagari government, during that 2 yrs, what was the positive effect and result. Someone may have the intention to rule, but lacked what it takes to deliver good governance or turn things around for good. Above all, democracy is different from military dictatorship. Those in jeens, that employs those in tie, are those that has focus, good moral fiber and has the agenda to make a positive and lasting impact
