Letter to my Muslim friends
On this occasion of Eid El Kabir, I seize this opportunity to ask of you, your
thoughts on some goings on in Nigeria.Ordinarily, I should be congratulating you for the Mercy of God in letting you be part of this year's Sallah. I quite agree but you know I am not flippant in picking friends, so I believe you know I have nothing but good wishes for you always.
The issue of the moment is Nigeria's secularity and the threat of this secularity from Islam. I know you to be fair minded hence I am raising this issue.
Firstly, IBB smuggles Nigeria into Organization of Islamic Countries. Today Islamic State in West Africa terrorizes Nigeria. What do you think?
They burn churches, kill worshippers and effect jail break.
Please, as Muslims, lead the effort in ridding Nigeria of threat and attacks and while you are at it, think of the solution to the scourge of Boko Haram.
Sometime in Nigeria's dark past a Military Governor, who is now a traditional ruler, got a journalist's head shaved for daring to report a strike by teacher's under the military Governor, on the Governor's birthday.
I hope as my friends you will not take umbrage at this my message at this particular time. It is just that as you are felicitating, I am wondering what others have in mind?
This is important because no condition is permanent and who knows if the table will turn and Muslims on the receiving end.
Surely, as my friends, I would not feel at ease, so please deal with it.
Sincerely, it just occurred to me to sympathize with you for having to face the current runaway inflation in meeting with your obligatory celebration.
As usual be assured of my best regards.
Honestly, there are so many questions these people need to answer. Why must all these violent groups emanate from a religion often described as peaceful? Why is it so difficult to call those giving Islam a bad image to order? Obviously this is not the same religion everyone grew up with.
