Soludo, Unknown Gunmen and tomorrow
The man to beat in the anal of Governance in Anambra State is Peter
Obi. How did he do it?Interestingly, Peter Obi and Soludo went to the same public University, UNN.
Soludo came into Governance with high hopes from all and sundry. So far the outlook is very hazy and foreboding.
It is still early days but I am concerned that all the News coming from Anambra State emanate from one source and talk about only Soludo.
This is a clear sign of a one man orchestra. I hope for the sake of the Governor and the people of Anambra State that I am wrong.
Make no mistake about it, security is a foremost duty of a leader. However, the security architecture of Nigeria is a banana peel.
Let me explain. The Governor is the Chief Security Officer of a State but the security agencies are not under his command. Recall the incidents of Lekki toll gate on the night of 20th October 2022.
The unknown Gunmen are a real challenge but it is said that a wrestler who rushes meets with a terrible fall.
While Nigerian Governance appears to wear the toga of gerontocracy, Soludo at 61 is not very young and should learn to delegate some of his duties including tackling security challenges of the state.
Why attempt to flush out Gunmen with fanfare before rushing to meet MNK?
The Security Committee of Anambra State should have made that recommendation and the Governor ought not go in person.
The damage has been done and there is a need for an urgent reappraisal to know the way forward.
Whoever tells Soludo that the Solution is within sight must be deceiving him.
He should tread carefully and consult widely to avoid damaging his Political career and further fanning the embers of violence in the state.
A word is enough for the wise.
Thank you for this noble round of arguments. I guess Soludo is handling the issue like a boardroom politician that he is. From every indication, he's yet to come to grips with way to handle the affairs of a volatile state like Anambra. He is definitely going to seek proper guidance in his bid to put all the problems under a firm control.
