Godwin Emefiele: a CBN Governor like no other

 

As far as connections go, CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele is a symbol

of the power of Jim Ovia. One may wonder how I came to that conclusion.

Before, we go into that, there was a precedent. A certain gentleman, was so close to IBB, the head of his business conglomerate, was made Nigeria's Minister of trade.

Before, I get back to the CBN Governor, permit me to tell a little story. I once met a young lady in the not so distant past, who swore she was going to no other University but Unilag because, she did not want to go beyond Lagos.

Then I brought up the issue of NYSC and she told me her mother was in charge of Posting at the NYSC.

That was connection. Bukola Saraki took Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to GEJ. Who else but Jim would take Godwin Emefiele to PMB for appointment?  I may be wrong but remember, Godwin Emefiele was MD of Jim's Zenith Bank.

At the confirmation hearing of Godwin Emefiele, at the Senate, he gladly told the Senators that it was their call to make, whatever they wanted.

The man was more than happy to be there. I doubt if if he ever thought of Alan Greenspan of the US. I want to believe he must have taught his University students about Alan Greenspan but sadly he knows he is no where near his reputation.

Integrity is different from learning. If Godwin Emefiele has any iota of integrity he would know that his position is incompatible with partisan politics.

Recall the speed with which the CBN under Godwin Emefiele smoked out the financiers of #EndSars but were very slow in disclosing the financiers of Boko Haram.

Godwin Emefiele has set a record no CBN Governor worldwide would be proud of. So sad.
