As Starlink ISP enters Nigeria, will Elon Musk make a difference?
As Nigeria hobbles along politically, it is instructive to note that our politics
has often given us the short end of the stick in terms of development. Not many will remember that wide use of mobile phones started in Benin republic before Nigeria.
Today, Internet service is as epileptic as power supply except that there is no way round the challenge of the Internet other than to patronize as many Internet Service Providers as possible.
Well the richest man in the world born in South Africa, Elon Musk has been licensed to provide Internet Service in Nigeria under the trade name, Starlink.
His pricing has been criticised but I trust Nigerians, once he is able to make a difference, other Internet Service Providers would sit up. That is the virtue of competition.
Welcome, Elon Musk.
