The implications of Soludo's battles against criminals
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo is having a running battle with
anti Government elements in Anambra State. It is instructive to note that the existence of such elements is all over the South East of Nigeria.
Their existence is as a result of the Ostrich nature of Governance in the South East, whereby Governors like late Sam Mbakwe, lead the cry and not the battle against marginalization of the South East.
Chukwuma Soludo is not about to cry marginalization but use available resources to lead Anambra State into an era of new governance, whereby Government would lead the charge in showing what Anambra is all about.
No more letting shadowy elements lead the people while Governors cringe in fear or pretend that all is well.
Government should no longer be alienated by the people. The alienation of Government is at the root of most of the ills in our society.
In a situation where people see Government property as belonging to any one but themselves, it becomes easy for one to understand why such people would never want to pay Tax.
It is part of the relics of colonialism that people still see Government as anything but their creation and their servant.
Democracy and it's offshoot of elections notwithstanding, people still see Government as not representing them.
Soludo is about to change all that by enlisting the people in his battle against the rampaging militia in Anambra State.
Should he succeed and I pray he does, Anambra would have taken the lead in showing what Government should be: a representative of the people and not a foreign institution where officials hide under marginalization to feather their nest.
