Nigeria's Defence Ministry eyes US Pentagon


 One of the challenges of Nigeria's President in 2023 would be the Defence

Ministry. With Nigeria's hydra headed Insecurity, there is no doubt that our current Defence Ministry is in serious need of a shake up in Personnel and direction.

News from Nigeria's Defence Ministry courtesy of the new Permanent Secretary is a new Defence Ministry in the mould of the US Pentagon, whereby civilians and the Military would be working together in the same building.

There is nothing wrong with this arrangement on paper. In practice, it is a different ball game.

Nigeria's Defence Ministry is today bedevilled by ethnicity and religion. What the mulled arrangement portends is an empire of hate and division.

It is not that there is no hate now nor is there an absence of division, no. But bringing them together without tackling these vices is to build a bigger house of hate.

The way to go is to look for ways of tackling, the dichotomy first. When this has been achieved, you can then go ahead and bring everyone under the same building.

Make no mistake about it, the problems of our defence Ministry go beyond bringing everyone under the same roof.
