How can creditors owe Federal Government, N5.2Trillion?

Debtors owe and Creditors, lend. When I read that Creditors were owing the

Federal Government, N5.2 trillion, I smelt a rat.

Well, that just wasn't the case. It is a case of when you are in dire need of money, you start an audit of your finances.

The Nigerian Government is trying to look inwards for money.

It is a shame that today apart from Oil, our major source of revenue is foreign loans.

We should not wait for Oil to dry up before we brace up our fiscal policy to get us up and running as a responsible Political entity, where people pay taxes and leaders account for such monies.

The N5.2 trillion represents what revenue generating arms of the Government are keeping to themselves while the nation is busy going a borrowing and a Sorrowing.

A country can survive on taxes. We should make no mistake about it. The N5.2 trillion can go a long way in shoring up our finances.

Let the Government pursue it vigorously and ensure continuity in calling in the funds as at when due. Delay can lead to further leakages, that we can least afford.
