The death of DIG Joseph Egbunike

 

The death has been announced of Deputy Inspector General of Police,

Joseph Egbunike. Egbunike was the officer in charge of Force Investigation and recently handled the Investigation of Abba Kyari.

In Nigeria, we do not speak ill of the dead. His death no doubt has thrown up a number of controversies.

First, his investigation of Abba Kyari and second, what Alozie Ogugbuaja accused military officers of doing - drinking and taking Pepper Soup.

DIG Egbunike like many officers was obese. 

Even abroad, many officers are obese. Sometimes, I look at, our junior officers and their obesity and I wonder.

Well DIG Joseph Egbunike is gone but the ripples of his death would remain in the public domain for sometime to come.

Health is a personal matter, but the forces can and should go a step further.
