What is going on in our land?

From a spate of suicides to domestic violence and ritual killings not

discounting deaths from kidnappings, what is going on in our land?

Covid-19 has somehow affected the scale of religious activities. Could this be one of the effects?

Several arguments have been made that our land could have been worse without the scale of our religious activities.

But what somehow weakens this argument is the killings by individual religious figures like pastors and other clerics.

What then is behind the mindless suicides, husbands killing wives, wives killing husbands, stepmothers killing step children and youths killing their supposed lovers for money rituals?

Our society is indeed going to the dogs. In the midst of all, people are bandying jokes about how Nigeria is exporting religion and importing food.

God's chosen people exported their religion to Egypt in search of food. Who attends the foreign based churches?

Deal with it. At home there are jokes about warehouses turning to churches. When warehouses become empty, people find use for them.

The religious leaders preach prosperity for all. They teach money making principles.

Some of the pastors are themselves captains of industry. They do not all preach money making rituals.

We need Economic transformation but churches and religious bodies should not be made scapegoats.

When anarchy is enthroned, nobody escapes. There is a need for all hands to be on deck to find palliatives for our near state of anomie.
