African peer review and high marks for Nigeria

The African Union should hide its face in shame. At a time when Nigeria is

reeling from paucity of Infrastructure and mounting food Bill, the AU is scoring Nigeria high in Agriculture and Infrastructure.

How will the AU react to Nigeria's phoney Rice pyramid in January after missing Rice in festive December or to the importation of adulterated petrol by an OPEC member?

The AU may need someone to tell her that her standards are abysmally low.

What with coups rearing their ugly heads in African countries?

The African Union should introduce and encourage Intra African trade and make it easier for African countries to visit one another than to visit Europe and America.

The AU may need being told that African countries own the world's largest reserve of Mineral resources and agricultural raw materials and yet reel in poverty.

Until African countries take their pride of place in World affairs, the AU would continue to be a reference point for a sick joke.

  1. This is it.!!!

The last two paragraphs said it all.

I recall my development economic lecturer frequently said *development is possible". When you read about the development of Dubai and see what is happening in Nigeria and Congo (DRC), one would be forced to ask: is Africa under a curse?

What is common to all developed countries is a good leadership.
