What future, for our youths?

Ken Saro Wiwa became a Rivers State commissioner for Education at the age

of twenty four. Chinua Achebe wrote Things Fall Apart in his 20s. Anthony Enahoro moved 'Self Government now' in Parliament in his 20s.

These men are all gone but in the Nigeria they left behind for us, having played their own part, what does the future hold for our Youths?

Big Brother Naija. Nigerian Idol. Nigeria got Talent.

At 70 people are emerging youth leaders in our present day politics. When will such Youth Leaders emerge from their youthfulness?

Is it a sign of longevity? Not at all. Public Universities today are thanks to Strikes incapable of producing very young graduates.

The onus is now on private Universities that are designed to produce baby adults. No thanks to their secondary school orientation.

What future for our youths? They all live bodily in Nigeria but their spirits are abroad.

Where is their fire of patriotism? The bandits, unknown gun men, kidnappers and terrorists are all youths.

What does the future hold for them?
