Should Malami sue Transparency International?
I remember a Nigerian Football Coach that accused a referee of Racism after
his Under - 20 team received a beating. It was Dele Giwa who advised Shehu Musa that whenever he was caught pants down, he should keep mum.
On the world stage, we have a good record in age grade football competitions.
In the Senior, we have managed not to distinguish ourselves.
On the issue of Corruption, Transparency International have rated Nigeria worse but Nigeria's Attorney general and Minister of Justice feels otherwise.
Should he sue Transparency International?
Nigeria is neck deep in corruption. I think Malami would rather keep mum after the advice of Dele Giwa of Blessed Memory.
What Transparency International have told Malami and others in charge of anti corruption programs and propaganda is that they are not doing enough and that beyond talk, they have to walk the talk.
On NTA, I watched Malami reel out records to show the difference this Government is making in the fight against corruption.
Perception is everything. For the Government at the centre, the corruption perception Index is very high. Grandstanding cannot reduce it. Real action against corruption, can do it.
Excellent opinion!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think this administration can achieve more on fighting corruption.
I also think the administration got it wrong from the appointment of ministers. But it is Politics anyway and those that worked for the party to get to power should be considered.
Fighting corruption is not a rocket science. All it requires is discipline QED.
Those that believed fighting corruption should start from follower's to leaders should look at a good example of Singapore. Leaders sets the directions, agenda etc.
Our Honourable Minister should keep mums. The information is free for all to see. We feel it, we see it daily. The facts are obvious. Minimum wage is N30k per month. What is minimum rent? , Transport cost, feeding, consumables, school fees etc.
Nigeria can't be out of poverty and corruption without a purposeful leadership to fix the economy.
Exactly
DeleteAnytime I hear this Oga's talks, it remind me about the advice we were given while in the military school. (If you have nothing reasonable to say, please say nothing) he always wants to be in news whether he has any cogent thing to say or not. Remember, he was the spare parts sellers and herdsmen advocate that has no comparisons. How I wish he will once leave his privilege position and mingles with the public and learn about our system first hand as a victim, then he will know that the Transparency International is not really placing us in our merited position as number one in their corruption index.
