Doyin Salami and the poisoned Chalice

In the twilight of the PMB regime, he appoints Doyin Salami as Chief

Economic Adviser. I do not quarrel with the choice.

I only wonder at the reason behind the choice.? When Abacha appointed Olu Onagoruwa as Attorney general, Gani, wept.

Gani wept because as a friend he had warned Onagoruwa against accepting the appointment.

True to Gani's fears, immediately after the appointment, before Onagoruwa could get to Abuja, six Decrees were rolled out in his name.

When eventually, he smelt the coffee and left the office, his reward was the assassination of his first son.

I do not envisage such extreme measures against Doyin Salami . However, I wonder if since he joined the Presidential Economic team in 2019, he is satisfied with the Economic policies of PMB?

As a teacher, such a question is very germain for tomorrow is around the corner.

If he is proud of his output so far, then my fears are unfounded.

  2. Well said sir.
I don't know why professionals sometimes don't learn from past mistakes.
Working with the military requires some level of tactics if not a high level.

I zero my mind about the existence of the economic team in this administration when the MD of Financial Derivatives (Rewane) was confused about high level of unemployment, inflation sometimes in the late 2021 as published in Punch newspaper.

The economic team would have published their opinion via print media for Nigerians to know what went wrong. Most times it is not the absence of a good advise but lack of a Political will, nepotism etc that held us from making progress as a nation.
