BAT, beyond debate

The world, especially Nigeria is full of novel sayings and one of them in

Yoruba is ' Ilufemiloye' meaning the land wants me to lead.

In the past in Nigeria, politicians are wont to anchor their ambition on the wish of their people that was lingo that has found expression in Yoruba.

BAT may well find time to use it.

But today, his many support groups are busy fighting fire.

I remember the case of Atiku's several court cases in the run u0 to the 2007 Nigerian Elections.

Atiku won severally in Court but in the end he lost the Elections to OBJ's man. I guess, he had dissipated his energy fighting his Boss in the courts. The significant part is that he won in the courts but that was not enough.

Today, BAT's men are putting their ingenuity to work but the Presidency is not about debate but about the choice of the people.

It is not by force. It is not a war. It is about Nigeria and our progress.

They are straightening his Age, Academic records, Bullion Vans, Alpha Beta among others.

Election is not about fire Fighting is about putting past records to use not about changing perceptions.

The audacious actions of the past are enough to make people form their opinion.

For a start, how do you argue that Igbos cannot aspire to the Presidency today because OBJ is an Igbo man?

How do you defend two Bullion Vans in the house of a politician on Election day?

His support and union with National Union of Road Transport Workers is another matter entirely.

He should keep his gunpowder dry and support a candidate of Igbo extraction with credibility.

If he does that, he would not need to find accolades. Accolades would find him.
