APC and the politics of deception
For those who believe in rotational Presidency, APC zoning the Presidency
to the South and not to the South East is a red herring. In 1983, the Unity Party of Nigeria, Governorship candidate in Sokoto state said on Television that only a Sokoto man was good enough to rule Nigeria.
Meanwhile, his party had a Presidential candidate in Chief Obafemi Awolowo. The question is could he have voted for Chief Awolowo of his party or Alhaji Shehu Shagari of National Party of Nigeria from Sokoto?
In today's Politics that was Anti party activity.
Now my position is this. APC zoning their Presidential ticket to the South and not just South East is a way of making the South give the Presidency back to the North through Atiku.
Someone once said that in a class of an Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo, the Yoruba and Igbo would be jostling for who to emerge class representative.
Meanwhile, the Hausa man would be minding his business seemingly unconcerned.
Since a tie could only be broken by the Hausa, then the Yoruba and Igbo would swallow their ambition and go by the route of Vice President.
That is what APC offered BAT but now it is South, which could mean either East or West. If BAT did not know he was sold a dummy, now he knows.
The North would rather vote Atiku than BAT and the East having been promised a Vice Presidential ticket would rather vote Atiku than BAT.
The only way to stop this perfidy is a neutral party of Southerners with an Igbo as Presidential candidate.
It's either South W or E this time, Atiku's chance this time is slimmer than when he contested in 2019.

DeleteThe north will always vote for their own regardless of the party.
ReplyDeleteIf PDP presents Atiku, the presidency is settled.
Exactly
DeleteExactly the point My Bros. Before now, I have arrived at such thinking. You see, neither SE nor SW or SS can possibly produce Head of State singly in the country without the support of the Norths. However, since the present leadership in the country have elevated nepotism to its apex, the North would not easily give up their lucrative appointments in all juicy areas they are presently occupying. So, if by any chance, Waziri is allowed to contest, he will win even if he contest by zoom.
ReplyDeleteBros, Election by ZOOM?
DeleteI like this analysis. 🙏
ReplyDeleteThe northerners will always follow their person "no matter what". But the SE have occupied VP position before. Why not give them the Presidency/CIC.
